A review of the 19th Wine Festival

It had been 2 years since the last time we participated in the Falset Wine Festival and this year we were thrilled to return. On Friday, we attended the Tast del Decenni where we tasted 24 wines blind, those produced in 2004 by the Qualified Designation of Origin Priorat and the Designation of Origin Montsant. The aim was to assess the ageing capacity of the wines. The TOCS 2004 was very lively and expressive, with plenty of fresh fruit, minerality and notes of dry herbs. It was very complex and developed well in the glass. Its freshness and ageing qualities were perceptible.

On Saturday and Sunday, we were at the festival stand. It was a joy to return and see so many wine connoisseurs and get to know others. Those who came to greet us had the chance to taste and buy the TOCS 2007 and 2008 and the VIDALBA 2008. Furthermore, they were able to have a first taste of a new wine that we will soon be presenting, a very fresh and palatable Grenache blanc.

Lastly, on Monday morning we took part in professional wine tasting. We were welcomed into Falset Castle, a fine setting in which to present what will be our wines of the 2012 vintage. We presented samples of coupages, recently taken from our French oak barrels, which already showed the potential of the wines.

These five intense days were hard but gratifying because we were able to see a lot of people and enjoy the Priorat wines.

Thank you to everyone for congratulating us and for your opinions!
